Controlling views allows you to accurately know where you are, and what you are looking at in 3D space.

References

• Rhino's default setting shows 4 views at one time.

  Top - Overhead view. Also referred to as Plan or Bird's Eye.

  right drag to pan.

  Front - Side View. Also referred to as an Elevation.

  right drag to pan.

  Right - Alternate Side View. Also referred to as an Elevation.

  right drag to pan.

  Perspective - A 3D view which simulates 1 or 2 point perspective.

  right drag to orbit

  Shift + right drag to pan.

Viewport Selection

• Selecting any viewport text will make it the active viewport

• You can double click the viewport text to make it full screen.

<aside> 💡 It's common to switch between different views often, even in the middle of a command. Press Ctrl + Tab to quickly toggle between views.

• Any operation you do in one view, is simultaneously displayed in all other views.

Resizing

• You can adjust the dimensions of any window by hovering over its margin until the resize cursor displays.

Viewport Projection

• Rhino has three settings for Perspective view.
  • Perspective
  • Two Point Perspective
  • Parallel
• You can switch between views using the Properties Side Panel
