The section command creates a section "cut" line through one or multiple geometries.

Sections

• Any Rhino geometry works for generating sections including
  • Curves
  • Surfaces
  • Polysurfaces
  • Meshes
• Sections work by running an intersect command on selected geometry through a vertical plane.
• Start by selecting all objects you wish to create a section through.

• Draw a line to use as a guide to determine

• Type section. You are prompted to provide the beginning and end points of vertical section cut plane. Only geometry that falls within the length of the line will be included. It is not infinite.

• Typing enter will run the section command.
• You can generate multiple section cuts at one time.

• The resultant curves define a 2D section through your geometry.

• Resultant curves can be exported in vector graphics software like Illustrator for styling.
