Layers are the most common way to sort and organize objects in your Rhino workspace.
Creating Layers
- Layers can be created by clicking on the "blank page" icon in the upper left corner of the layers panel.

- Or by
right clicking in the blank space, and selecting "New Layer"

Naming Layers
Double Clicking the name of any layer will allow you to rename it from its default.

Right Clicking any layer name allows you rename it.

Layer Properties

- The ✔️ designates which layer is the "Active Layer". Any geometry made in the Rhino workspace will be automatically added to this layer.
- The 💡 designates whether a layer is currently being shown or hidden.
- The 🔒 designates whether a layer is currently locked.

💡 Objects on locked layers do not appear any different in your Rhino workspace.

- The ⬛ designates the display color of a layer.
Right Click it to change.
- Material allows you to assign render materials to layers.
